It’s another birthday for Johannesburg Zoo and we’re as excited as you are!
We’d like to celebrate our 118th birthday with all the March babies. If your birthday falls in the month of March, we’re offering you free access to the zoo throughout this month only.
With the relaxed Covid regulations and just before the winter chills hit Joburg, this is your time to spend your birthday outdoors with family and friends. We offer ample space for picnics and safe walking distancing.
The Joburg Zoo’s humble beginnings in 1904, was a mere 200 acres stretch of land and an animal collection of no more than 10 species. The Joburg Zoo has grown in size and is in the forefront in animal conservation, preservation and education of critically endangered species.
Join us during March as we celebrate our birthday and remember to bring your proof of identification for free access.
You are also reminded to take personal responsibility against Covid19 by wearing a mask, practicing safe distancing and sanitizing regularly.
