Joburg Zoo is 119 years old; that’s a big number but who’s counting! You’re only as old as you feel right?
The month of March is our birthday month and it’s one big party for the Johannesburg Zoo with loads of activities for everyone.
Here’s what we’ve planned for you:
A special birthday Zoo Trot on Sunday, 12 March 2023
As part of the 119 birthday celebrations, Senior Citizens and kids under 12 years old will only pay R19. Everyone else still pays R68.
The 5 or 10km walk or run race is a favourite amongst the avid zoo trotters and general zoo visitors. A short 5-minute programme at 7am welcoming everyone
The first 400 trotters will receive a 119 birthday t-shirt, a special edition 119 zoo trot medal, a slice of the 119 birthday cake and loads. Kiddies will be entertained by stilt walkers, face painters and mime artists.
We’ll have various animals talks, aerobics and a surprise element at the end of your race!
Gates open at 06h30, registration is at 07h00 with the race starting promptly at 07h30.
