It might be a little chilly outside these days and winter at our doorsteps but the weather won’t get in the way of honoring the mothers of Mzanzi this Mother’s Day!

We’re celebrating the Matriarchs at the Johannesburg Zoo with a mini-concert, live music, DJs on the decks, ample space for picnics and a kiddies area.

Moms, grandmoms, family and friends can look forward to the golden voice of Amanda Faku, better known to her fans as Ami Faku. Faku, the singer and songwriter we’ve come to love, rose to fame as a contestant on The Voice SA season 2 in 2017 which was her breakthrough in the music industry. Some of her most loved tracks include “Fatela”, “Abalele,” “Ubuhle bakho” but to name a few.

Jo Black is a renowned Afrikaans musician and storyteller. Born Jo Engelbrecht, the Afrikaans singer uses his music to bring about inspiration. His classic rock vibes and infectious voice have garnered him an impressive following in South Africa with famous tracks like “Voel jy die genade”, “Bitter,” “Bring die hoop weer terug” and more.
